I knew I was going to drop a post today but not this early. Nigeria has forced me to, our great friends from far back just had to surprise me, I hope you know who I am talking about...PHCN our very own power holding company.
I can't stop loving October, its the best month of the year, not just because Nigeria is 50 today, not just because I am turning 22, not just because Chelsea is playing Arsenal...the name just sounds too right "OC TO BER" sorry if you don't belong to this month kosoro.
#monthseptember ended in grand style, I completed my 642-902 series class yesterday, sorry if you don't know the meaning google is always a close friend. Actually ended the month by an invite to Chevron's Independence Day Dinner, it was fun to an extent but I was continuously humiliated by my sister's friend who knew me when I just gained admission into the university. She kept on' hammering the fact of my pride, my cool calm and shy behaviour, my well starched shirt, my beards in fact everything about me. There was a lot to eat, music by my very own Mr Capable live. I was overwhelmed by this oil company, too much money, awards were given to their different staff, as in the awards were just hilarious. There was an award for "chill pill" as in calm in any working environment, there was for gadget boy and gurl, there was for best rides, there was the "biker boiz" award for best bike, there was 24hr man, working the longest hours and many more, the oil cannot finish before I get there.
I also realised that their white expatriates were few, to the best of my knowledge black expatriates were the ones in vogue from different countries, the likes of Canada, Uganda, Trinidad and Tobago etc. We ended early at about 10pm wanted to go for the fireworks plus countdown but goddamn it I was just too tired had to take a quick speed home even though I was driving half asleep, I guess I was tired because I was too overjoyed that October was barely hours away.
Back to Nigeria, I am happy we are 50 now. Wish I was there when the union jack was lowered I guess some sense will enter our present leaders and future leaders that we are just an independently dependable overgrown baby. Permit me for the use of my words but if you think of it, it is very frustrating, everybody just wants to get to power and loot, scam whatever you want to call it. We can't boast of 1month constant supply of electricity, our drainages are blocked, kidnapping is the order of the day, thank God those kids have been released but where are the corpers who got missing since the beginning of last month they are nowhere to be found.
Those who ruined or who are to be blamed for our problems want to come back and rule again, but how far now!!! You had your chance you misused it and you think we will allow you again...never o even God is watching. I can still remember those dark evil days after the annulment of june 12th elections, there was calamity, I didn't go to school for a couple of days, people were being burnt, we moved in cars with green leaves, o my people, my great nation we suffer because of lack of knowledge.
I am not saying we have not achieved good, but it cannot be compared to the bad, at least we have won miss world once, we have been ranked 5th in football after atlanta '96 abeg the rest go and check them up on' the net I don tire to dey type!! But we need world changers, we need to forget these past 50years that the truth o we need to start living the dream and start looking forward to the next 50years. I can't do this alone o, I need all of you to help out and also find people to help out.
Yet the forgone cannot be forgotten but we can live to see' a new NIGERIA. We are the people of the next 50years. I pray we all live to see the next 50years because I am going to bring up this post again to compare the great difference of now and then.
