Everybody will be wondering what's so unique about this date, the claim is that it happens only once in every hundred years. Well I am at home right now and sure its really a unique or rather jinxed day for Ehi. I should actually follow protocol and talk about yesterday before I get back to 10/10.
Wow yesterday was a great, I just thank God I am alive to tell the story. It all started with a bike ride to parkview estate in Ikoyi where the bus was meant to take us to Isolo for our breast cancer awareness walk. On the bus I couldn't help myself but become a little scared because of the stories I was hearing about the famous longest bridge of West Africa. The stories were told in her thick british accent which kept me smiling and a lil scared as earlier said. Orode and Omawumi just had to show off their waffi tendencies by conversing in pigin. By the way I never even figured it out that the two babes in front of the bus were Omawumi and Mochedda, these celebrities always have a way of bumping into me. First of all it was Wande then Asa, then Banky now both of them.
We started our breast cancer match with fliers in both pigin and english. The hilux was in front with the display of how to check yourself for symptoms and the drum line following directly behind them. It was fun but messy because it had drizzled earlier in the day. As in mushin is the real lagos!!! Buses packed at the side, traffic, meat sellers, fish sellers everything was going on the same street well we still had to do out thingy.
We ended at about 1pm, immediately after drinks and exchanging felicitations, the goons had to run off to Jaye's crib where 3 of us murdered about 10packets of indomie and made our plans for the next phase of our life which starts on 26th October. The journey home was not a friendly one, I could not find my usual en route obalende/cms bus so I had to take a bus to the famous oshodi where I got lost for about 15minutes. Anyway I found a bus after 15mins of misery which I had to run and jump while the bus was still in motion. To the glory of God lekki demons were not on the road so it was quite a quick journey home.
Now back to 10/10, it has been quite jinxed, 1st of all my license expires today instead of 14th due to blindness of the official that compiled my details. Before lunch I almost got my right foot crushed in my very own kitchen, the way it landed on ma leg thank God I am still walking, it will have been a different story, two different accidents on both legs now this third one, abeg God pass them. My head is banging seriously and #teamnigeria the so called super eagles are playing absolutely rubbish, the match commentary is whack and there is no even replay. God will save us soon. Wish I was present at the LORD OF THE RIBS this very moment. Now my mind cannot just leave the fact that nysc is by the corner, these are the last days of rest I will ever have. The future is already here, its time to make the dollar bills. O God please let ma placement just have LAG at the beginning that's all I ask of you.
Daddy is back in lag, Ehi is back to his normal lifestyle, no more king size bed, no more waking up midday, it is read, read and read all the way, I have to show him I am ready for my exams soonest. This brings me to a close, just remembered today in church when the choir sang a hymn without the audience following for the first time ever. The pastor left us with a word which made so much sense "the worst thing that can happen to a man is to fail to participate". Ciao fellas time to get back to my pineapple punch and jollof rice.
you're good at what you do...great delivery!
