ever FAITHFUL

I guess I have lost most of my readers but it aint my fault, the summary is that I am losing my blogging mojo. Enough of all that a lot has been happening guys as in so much which there will not be time to say all, time just keeps going irrespectively of who you are.

Summer ends today  according to geography  September 22nd marks the end of the summer solstice and the beginning of autumn equinox, but here in naija it is all different, rain falls even when there are no clouds its very frustrating because the useless rain causes evil traffic plus loss of power, abeg harmatan should do and come. Anyway, according to the summer ending, well it was fun, my family reunited in our Lagos house, lots of fun, gist and outings. All good things end but why??? Oseme was the first to leave, shez my kid sister , she had to return to school for her IGCSE, next was mummy she came down to Lagos for just 4 days, she had a wedding to attend now she is gone sobs!!! Otibs was next she is the first child, she came for exactly a week and now she has gone back to the continent she resides. Daddy stayed the longest to me but he will soon be back again. Ofure just had to go back to school to continue her B.Eng degree in chemical engineering, I miss her very much guess its just both of us left in this house, myself and my workaholic sister, anyway I have moved into the master bedroom, lounging there is fun guys, bigger space and all you can think off. It’s actually for a while before I am bounced back to my cubicle...lol

The Lord has been ever faithful to me even though I do not really deserve any of His good works. My friend applied carelessly for me to undertake a postgraduate scholarship exam offered by AGIP and as God has it I was shortlisted, it is still very funny to me because I have no admission from any school neither do I have my transcript from school. I know God will work things out for me, He is just to faithful to me, not that I am better than others but because of His mercy on my life. Am in a kinda confused state at the moment, don’t know where exactly to do my NYSC, neither can I find my engineering maths textbook to read for my exam on Saturday. I am just stuck with a series I am watching every evening “HOUSE” I guess I am addicted to it but I need focus guys as in more than focus OSPF is even giving me some headache in the Cisco world I believe all will be well soon.

I just remembered what happened yesterday during Digging Deep, it’s a Tuesday church service in the Redeemed Christian Church of God. I kept scoping a particular girl God please forgive me, I kept scoping her planning my next move in my head to be accomplished immediately after we share the grace in the service. As in this was more than scoping, I cant actually remember the last time I actually scoped a girl like that because some one stole my heart even though she didn’t realize it I never regained myself. Anyway usually after the grace we all shake hands and get each others names so this was my best chance... As I walked up to her to get her name and start up a conversation I noticed she was married, she had a golden ring on her left hand, I just froze in front of her, I am sure she is still wondering what happened to me till this very moment. The rest is history oo!!!

Virgo is ending, Libra is by the corner, Nigeria is going to be 50, and I am going to be 22. Jeez I am old, I thought by now my name will be on Forbes list lol am just kidding its one-step at a time just stick with me. This is actually the first time I am going to be at home after so many years on October 1st, no student pallies neither is there greenbelt hanging out (secondary school stuff), I just have to make good use of it. I still doubt if I have the energy to join coolfm’s bicycle ride on Independence Day, I just have to make it a remarkable day for myself. I did not know this post was going to be this long, I have to get back to my books. Anyway, a shout out to Yhinkee his birthday is on the 24th and I might not drop a post on or before that again...Ciao fellas

roadTRIP 2 ILE-IFE

Our journey started off on a good note with me feeling less enthusiastic and the passengers hearing me repeatedly say to my house mate "I hope this Journey is worth it". I woke up quite early that day, wow after a long time of sleeping until midday I just had to be up by 6am. At 7am, we were already in CNL chevron Nigeria limited for kick-off. I forgot to mention earlier that it was actually a tour for CNL’s language class to ile-ife...the language class consists of Spanish, Yoruba, Hausa and French.

After we were given our tourism polo shirts and caps, we started our journey at about 8am.
With my earphones plugged into my ears and some rock music playing I did not even notice that not everyone I saw earlier were seated in my bus, only then did I realize that we were in a convoy, it was really ‘The Dream’ as my friend will say. The convoy consisted of a two mopol hilux vehicles and two coaster buses with the buses in between the mopol vehicles but we were moving at 80km per hour according to chevron policy.

I can remember hearing something funny one of the expatriates asked the tour guide" why are there so many police check points on the highway and what are they collecting from the bus drivers". I was also thinking if I were the one asked such an embarrassing question about my country’s police what will I say and If you were in the shoes of the driver,WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?...Anyway,the tour guide answered well..."He said, the police men were collecting gifts from the bus drivers because they had committed an offense in the past and in order not to be arrested they had to provide gifts"... I burst into laughter and got myself thinking ‘bribery and corruption’ had just been given a new name. What happened to Christmas and Valentine's Day giving of gifts?...lol

The journey was not a funny one, 4 hours of pain, I hate sitting down for too long in fact my ass is still recovering from that day's journey. The road was not too good, the bus ride was too cold because of the long hours of usage of the a.c but who am I to complain because sitting with CNL staff was just "IT" for me. We finally got to our destination, Osun state... We headed straight to the university of ile-ife, Getting into the premises,I was like WAOH!!!This is the "IT" school. So ancient yet so beautiful. The expanse of land was enormous, Covenant University/Canaanland compared to this is nothing. Anyway, I liked the setting of the school because of how their buildings were constructed according to the hilly terrain.

It was actually a short visit, from the department of agric science to the museum where they used real animal skin to make animal sculptures, it just reminded me of the movie ‘Night at the Museum’.
After a quick moment at the museum we went for small chops and apples courtesy CNL, it was marvelous "these oil companies really know how to take care of their staff. Next we headed to the zoo still in the same school, so many animals even though some cages were empty due to extinction...lol just kidding!! Lions, hyena, monkeys, crocs, snakes antelope and the likes. We were actually rushing because the main reason of the tour was to learn about the Yoruba history.

We took a tour to the national museum were pictures were not allowed. After that, we left the museum we went straight to the Ooni of ifes palace, I was not too interested because I hate Yoruba history but I could not give a deaf ear. We were told stories about their tradition, the different Oonis, moremi: how she fought for her people, oranmiyan and d likes. The last stop was at oranmiyans chief of staff, actually the place where the guy changed to a stone and disappeared or something like that. We did not see the stone because we were meant to perform some sacrifices before going in...something I culdnt do because of my belief and maybe twas the same with others.

The journey home was slower, we stopped at Mr Biggs for lunch and headed for home,I missed pinging because of poor network. We left ife by 4pm and got to lekki chevron at about 9pm it was not funny o but God dey. I made new friends and I guess they were really impressed by me.Anyway, that earned me another invitation to Badagry!!!Oops..ddnt see that coming. I kinda look forward to the trip but that will be if am free. At the Long run,the trip was worth it!!! The pix will be uploaded later.

#randomfact

I am sorry I have kept you all waiting but it’s not actually my fault, I rarely have time to settle down and type. I told myself I will not let today go without dropping something for myself and for my readers.
Where should I start from, Lagos has not been bad actually, at least I know I am home. It feels good to be reunited with my old and true friends but it doesn’t feel good to be back to a stressful life of las gidi wahala. I mean the hustles and palava here and there. I have to promise myself to be on the island before 6pm or stay off Lekki till about 10pm, mehn traffic too much o!!! Last Thursday was hell for me from  Ikoyi to Lekki I spent 3hours  on the road in dead lock traffic, let me free las gidi jor and get back to the main aim of this post, after all wetin man wan do, I cannot kill myself.

In the course of last week I got myself into some deep thoughts, I know this is not a Christian or rather a religious blog but the fact remains the fact the end times are here. We just woke one morning and we heard Pakistan was flooded, another day it’s China, one natural disaster or the other happening here and there. We are just highly favoured by God. For the bible says in Romans 9:15 “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. My fellow readers it’s very possible to wake up and hear alpha beach and Lekki beach are overflowing, flooding the whole peninsula if you will not draw close to God me I will o, Alpha beach is less than a kilometre away from my house, please do not laugh at me  but am serious. Some of us are so care free with God that we take Him for granted, a word of prayer is very important before we sleep and when we wake up because it is by His grace we are alive, we are not better than anyone else in this world.

I learnt so much in church yesterday, hmmm some truth I have never heard in my 22years on earth. For God Himself slays people o be warned am serious check it in Jeremiah 15:2-3. Anyway last of all don’t go hiding in the house of God o because judgement starts from there. I hope this is enough sha, like I said before I am a busy man now can’t write so long because I have class tomorrow and I also need to read late nights and keep abreast. Thanks to you all, you are the best for reading, please keep encouraging me o, God is all our strength.

str8 4rm THE HEART

Before I left for mid-week service today I was kind of down, I thought maybe it was because of the cold due to the heavy down pour outside but guess what? I was wrong, right now I am in traffic on my way back home and I still feel the same.

Exactly one week and a day today I met a new friend, we grew fond of each other in just a short while that right now you would not believe me how much I miss this my friend. The truth is that I am sure you are saying this boy has come again with his confusion, no is the answer because this is rather shocking, its hard for me to understand how things went wrong. We chatted day in day out, she sent voice notes, I replied back the voice notes, this is quite absurd.

My story goes on and on, it even got to the extent I picked the clothes she wore for her french classes. Now this is where I messed up, I forgot BIS was not eternal but yet I remember her asking "Ehi is there any need of renewing my subscription?" And I was so carefree and told her to follow her mind, I am very sure that must have upset her but she never mentioned. She talked to me as if she had known me right from the day I was born, she even sent consoling messages to my younger sister who was ill, she was like family to me.

Today everything seems so odd because I woke up to see she never said goodbye, but wait friends never say goodbye, they are there till the very end. This is fascinating, I never mentioned her to anybody not even my best friend, or first crush or anybody, okay let's say I mentioned her to my baby sister who I hardly ever tell anything, but how on earth didn't I collect her number now my heart is bothered because I care and miss her so much.

So many questions to be answered:
#1 what if she never comes back?
#2 what if she never existed?
#3 what if this was her plan?
#4 what if these where only mind games?

Gosh why am I so emotional or will I say weak hearted, I wish I could help myself, no one I repeat no mortal misses her more than I do rite now. In fact I think this is going to be my last post, I am very sorry on ending my blog this way but if she never returns I never return to blogging... CIAO!!!

oBsErVaTiOnS

I actually thought that once I am in Abuja, I will be able to blog everyday but it has turned out so difficult due to my laziness but actually, the truth is I am always in and out of the house, eating or just chatting with a friend. In summary, I am always occupied.

In the past one week, I have made so many friends. I don’t know where to start from but I hope I am not hunted in the future for this because they all want something from me. This all boils down to the question that “how come the ones we want , are the ones we just never get?” It’s very painful because those we don’t want all just throw themselves at us. My story starts from here…We just met, we saw once, after that we are meant to leave it for fate to decide if our paths we cross again or destiny will catch up with us. You call me everyday, this is so odd, you make me promise to send you voice notes, I just hope I don’t see you in my dream because this will turn into ma hunt lol… We might just never see again and I don’t know how to do offshore relationships, I suck at them. By the time you are back I will be out of this town because home beckons on me.

Once upon a time, I couldn’t do without thinking about you, I promised myself what happens in Lagos remains in Lagos. The truth is that I still have a soft spot for you because you were like a dream come true. I know we both made efforts to see each other which were hindered one way or the other. Maybe we are just meant to be friends and when I say friends I mean cool close friends. Don’t worry, by God’s grace I will still try my best to see you before you go back for the continuation of your B.sc bear with me and tarry for awhile.

My observations go on and on but now there is a new friend who seems to be closer to my heart than I can imagine. I will leave the story for some other time… I know some of you are like “this Ehi has started with his confusion again”, don’t mind me fellas, I am single till its time for marriage I promise you that. But all I will say is that you all should hold on to me because my story is about to change. I have gone back to my drawing board to reconstruct my blue print and guess what? It’s time to enrich my C.V, the certificates have to start rolling in. NYSC is here, I am really confused, I don’t know where to chook my head o. Many companies have something to offer, the right move just has to click but will it be LNG, MTN, GLO, Schlumberger or better still Chevron? But can I stand working in the same environment with Ose?…destiny will tell.

This place is really different from home. I observed that crave for religion is so high. Let me give you an instance, the roads here are so free but on getting to the auditorium by 0600hours for first service{which is slated for 0630hrs}, it is already packed full. Na wa o! When in Lagos, people are still crashing tight…Something funny actually happened last week Sunday, I cannot still believe I was the victim. Handkerchiefs blessed by the Bishop were handed to the crowd. All of a sudden, the one meant for me, an elderly man and a woman in her mid forties grabbed it. It was a state of shock for me because they where meant to attend the next service, they couldn’t just wait till their turn. Na so I dey look them o, the woman was crying {not with tears sha} that please she wants the handkerchief, but the man did not care. They kept on struggling and dragging, it was causing a scene, na wa for religion everybody wan reach heaven sha. I must get there to.
My stay here is almost over but I am glad about the network of friends I was able to create. NYSC here will be fun but I just think home is home…Just one more official mission in this town and I am good to go, ciao!

I am very serious

Thoughts from the mind:
When you are feeling alone like no one cares, read this because it’s absolutely true: Every night, someone thinks about you before they go to sleep. At least fifteen people in this world love you. The only reason someone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you. There are at least two people in this world that would die for you. You mean the world to someone. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look. Always remember the compliments you've received, forget the rude remarks. Thank You for being my friend!
